3-Day Advanced Image File Preparation SeminarsIf you've recently spent two, three or more hours processing a single image, and you thought to yourself, "There's got to be a better, more efficient way to do this., " this workshop is for you. This is the workshop which concentrates on Workflow, the most efficient order in which to apply Photoshop processing edits. Photoshop offers SOOO many pathways towards achieving the same editing result that we, as photographers, are often left dazed and confused. Early editions of Photoshop employed a process called "destructive editing," in which the mathematical data which makes up each pixel is permanently changed by the edits we make when we save an image. This makes it difficult to make minor changes or alterations at a later date without opening the original image file and starting all over, possibly making the correction process even more complicated. Adobe came up with the right idea by altering their CS2 and CS3 programs to allow for NON-destructive editing which allows us not only to make simple "tweaks" to our images during an initial editing session, but also hours, days or months later when we might want to refine an image for exhibition. During this 3-day workshop, you'll learn several non-destructive workflows which will serve as a foundation for all your editing decisions in the future. These workflows, including RAW processing, place your editing choices sequentially in their most effective order, minimizing the time you'll require to process your images. You'll eliminate the "shotgun" editing effect we all fall into early, and instead learn a systematic technique for processing an image globally, reducing the amount of time spent working on local areas. Those small local areas often make or break an image, though, so we'll explore how best to select those areas for additional work, and how to apply those refinements in a non-destructive, easily modifiable way. This is achieved by using adjustment layers and masks, and you'll discover that these techniques will not only improve your editing skills, but will also guide you to making better exposures and better images.
The fee for this 3-day workshop is $595, exclusive of meals and accommodations. Accommodations & Meals:We can eat as a group at the various restaurants and diners in town.
