5-Day Digital Autumn in Vermont Workshop

Autum in Vermont Photography Workshops
Broken Window Reflection

How would you enjoy spending a week in Vermont at the peak of its autumn splendor? Tens of thousands of people do every October; they come from all over the world, and they bring their cameras. But often they're disappointed with their pictures because they don't know where to go, or when, or even what to do if they're fortunate enough to be in the right place at the right time. This is when hiring a "guide" who knows the territory and is a master of the process makes sense. Someone who lives in the area and knows where the "hot spots" are (they do change every year). My familiarity with this region allows us to anticipate changes in the weather and the light, helping us to all be in that right place, at that right time.

Our Vermont Autumn Workshop is primarily a shooting workshop for landscape and nature photographers who are comfortable in the digital realm. But bring your laptops, because we'll review our image-making sessions each evening, and will explore lots of Photoshop techniques as well. Emphasis will be on utilizing the light each day brings us for maximum effect: autumn foliage and color respond one way to a bright sunny day, and another way to drizzle and rain, but there is no such thing as "bad" light. We'll also concentrate on the ways that composition can change ordinary pictures into extraordinary images. Bring gear for all weather: large golf umbrellas are available and are great tools for photographers-some of the best images are made in the rain!

These workshops are limited to 8 participants each. Registration and a “Welcome Dinner” are Sunday afternoon and evening, group workshops run Monday through Friday, and the workshop winds up with group and individual evaluations on Saturday morning.

The fee for this 5˝ day workshop is $995, exclusive of meals and accommodations.
